Technical Design

Turns a game concept into something that can actually be built, engineered to survive real-world use and fit your exact space.

Advanced 3D CAD modeling, custom mechanisms, and production-ready blueprints, from first concept to CNC-ready files delivered to your door.

What Is Technical Design?

Every escape room mechanism has to survive thousands of guest interactions, fit exactly within your walls, and meet safety standards, before a single screw gets tightened.

Only One Concept designs that: precise 3D models, structural calculations, and complete fabrication files.

The foundation is a background in industrial maintenance and robotics engineering, sharpened by years spent physically building and installing custom escape game mechanisms on-site, in the workshop and on location.

See it built: 100+ real escape room installations, from concept to final assembly.

Case Study

Case Study
Next Level Escape, Sydney, Australia

Next Level Escape needed a way to hide a room transition behind an ordinary-
looking library wall. We modeled a full custom wall integrating a rotating
bookshelf that opens onto the next room, engineered to blend seamlessly
into the surrounding decor.

For the same client, we also modeled a full submarine-themed wall with a
custom hatch-style door, built to match the exact structural and thematic
constraints of the room.

Every file was delivered CNC and laser-ready, complete with a full Bill of
Materials listing every component to order, so their team could fabricate
and assemble on-site without an in-house workshop.

How We Work Together

Five steps, from first call to finished system.
Here's exactly how a project runs, step by step, with you involved at every step.

01 — Audit & Objectives

(Pre-Engineering & Spatial Study)

Understanding your space and constraints before designing anything.

Before drawing a single line, we align your game design with strict engineering parameters: space accessibility, regulatory compliance (including PMR/disabled access standards), and a precise bounding box.

This guarantees the entire mechanism fits flawlessly within your physical space, preventing costly mistakes.

02 — Solution Proposal

(Concept Prototype)

A first 3D concept, built to be validated, not guessed.

Based on the audit, we sketch the mechanism concept in a simplified 3D model, movement, illusion, and interaction, as a working proposal.

You review and validate the concept before we commit to full detailed engineering.

03 — Strategic Study

(3D Modeling & Mechanical Integration)

Every component engineered down to the last bolt.

The validated concept becomes a full industrial model in Fusion 360: precise structural components, simulated fits, and validated kinematic sequences.

We also engineer the mechanical core, custom triggers, counterweights, and automation, built to withstand intensive, repetitive guest use without breaking.

04 — Delivery

(Complete Fabrication Packages)

Machine-ready assets and integrated assembly blueprints.

You receive fully formatted DXF/STEP files optimized directly for CNC and laser execution, paired with a comprehensive Bill of Materials and, for complex mechanisms, step-by-step assembly guides.

Your team can source hardware and execute the physical build without an in-house workshop.

05 — Ongoing Support

(Remote Oversight)

Available as an optional premium service.

We provide remote project tracking, blueprint reviews with your local contractors, and live technical troubleshooting to guarantee our engineering tolerances are met perfectly on-site.
